Overseas Undergraduate Student Opportunities

The School of Chemistry welcomes undergraduate students from outside of the UK and actively encourages applications from suitably qualified candidates. Our FAQ page contains specific advice and information for students applying from overseas, and will tell you more about how to complete your UCAS application and the selection procedures that we use for overseas students. It also provides details of our new Faculty of Science Scholarships for international candidates.

If you require more information about the application procedure, availability of scholarships, eligibility, costs, etc you may either contact us by email. Alternatively you could try calling us using our Skype username, chemistryatbristol.

The University of Bristol International Centre gives advice and help to overseas students. There is also an independent International Students Centre which organises social events and activities.

As a service to overseas undergraduate applicants, the School of Chemistry has established an International Advisory Panel (IAP), composed of international postgraduates who are also members of our research teams in Chemistry at Bristol. There is currently representation from Asia (China, India, Pakistan Thailand, Malaysia, Japan), the Middle East and Africa (Cameroon, Ghana), and Central and South America (Mexico, Venezuela).

Applicants who feel they may benefit from personal discussions with an IAP member, may request contact information for the regional expert. The local IAP representative can then explain more about life in the School of Chemistry, the organisation and management of the School, the state-of-the-art laboratory and computing facilities, etc. Other information can also be obtained, such as what it is like to live in Bristol (including access to culturally specific amenities, such as foods or places of worship). Once the School of Chemistry has initiated this interaction, it will be the responsibility of the applicant to arrange a mutually convenient contact time, and bear the costs of any call charges.
