Atmospheric Chemistry Research Group

The Atmospheric Chemistry Research Group (ACRG) strives to improve our understanding of the environment via the measurement and modelling of the gases responsible for air pollution, climate change and ozone depletion.

We run multiple measurement sites, from a network of tall tower observatories in the UK to remote research stations situated in Ireland and Barbados.

We use computer models that simulate the transport and chemistry of atmospheric constituents and have developed novel statistical techniques to estimate emissions on global, regional and sub-regional scales.

Find out more about these research areas, as well as current projects and vacancies within the ACRG, by following the links.

Research

The ACRG is a multidisciplinary group, but our research activites typically fall into one of three over-arching fields - climate change, stratospheric ozone depletion and air quality.
