Lab Equipment

Our newly refurbished labs are fully equipped for the wide range of chemistry carried out within the group. The following pictures show the major pieces of instrumentation/apparatus contained within our laboratory (not including the vast range of synthesis equipment).

Drop Shape Analysis (Kruss DSA10-Mk2)

Liquid-liquid interfacial tension measurements (above ~2 mN m-1)

Contact angle measurements

Drop Volume Tensiometry (Lauda TVT 1)

Liquid-liquid interfacial tension measurements (above ~2 mN m-1)

Air-liquid interfacial tension measurements (above ~2 mN m-1) - particularly useful when using volatile solvents

Du Nouy Ring Tensiometry (Kruss K10 & K10T)
