Dr. Chris Johnston
Research
My research interests are mainly concerned with the study of metallic nanoparticles.

Looking both at the growth and morphology of individual particles and the architectures that they can form.

At present I am studying the crystal structure and morphology of high aspect ratio gold nanorods (20 x 300 nm) using HRTEM and electron diffraction.

I received my M.Chem degree from the University of Liverpool where I worked for Dr. M. Brust during my research project.

I also enjoy photography, music (listening to) and when money and time allow, travelling.
