I completed an undergraduate degree this year in Bristol and am back as a first year PhD student.

My work to date has involved organically functionalised magnesium phyllo(organo) silicate clays. Recent studies have shown that it is possible to intercalate a charged species into the galleries that exist within these lamellar nanocomposites. I am currently working with drug molecules as guest anions but hope to extend this method to incorporating various biomolecules within the structure.
