A woman might choose surgical abortion over medical abortion because :

• It requires one fewer office visits and is over quickly;
• It is slightly more effective than medical abortion, where 5 of every 100 woman requires surgical abortion;
• The woman notices less blood loss and is unaware of the passing of the products of conception.
