Background

I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2006 with an MSci (Hons) in Chemistry with Study in North America. My final year research project was the development of an improvement to the current stable isotope probing methodology. This was carried out under the supervision of Dr Hazel Mottram.

I started my PhD in October 2006 under the supervision of Richard Evershed and I am funded by NERC.

In my spare time I play real tennis and am the Bristol Universities Real Tennis Club Captain.

Research

My research aims to provide an insight into the consumption of marine dietary resources by ancient peoples; by gaining a fundamental understanding of the stable carbon isotopic signals of bone collagen at the level of its constituent amino acids.
