Research Interests:-

Pulsed UV Laser Ablation of Carbon Containing Targets. Aspects of the UV photoablation of targets such as graphite are being studied; this involves characterisation of both the ablation plume and the deposited thin films by numerous diagnostic techniques. The main purpose of this work is to establish optimum deposition conditions for the production of diamond-like carbon films. Such films have excellent electron emission properties and thus show promising potential in cold cathode devices such as flat panel displays.
