Competitive and Co-operative Adsorption in Polymer Systems

Beatrice Cattoz

Beatrice Cattoz

The aim of my project is to study the factors influencing competitive and co-operative adsorption of polyelectrolytes and surfactant onto colloid particles. The knowledge gained would be of particular benefit for laundry applications as combinations of polymers are often used in formulations. The main techniques to be used for this project are NMR (relaxation and diffusion), SANS, DLS, SLS and molecular modelling.

This project is sponsored by the EPSRC and Unilever.
