The Scanning Probe Microscopy Unit
The School of Chemistry has a suite situated in E125 dedicated to scanning probe microscopy (SPM). The suite currently houses two atomic force microscopes capable of near atomic resolution of a variety of substrate materials.
Basic and advance training for staff and students are available for all scanning modes, along with help with off-line analysis of the data, experimental design and application development. Group training sessions will be run on sample preparation (scheduled when there is enough people) which will cover both EM and SPM techniques. Self or contract service work is also available by arrangement. Please get in touch to see how we can help you.
