Marie Curie (born Maria Sklodowska) was born on November 7 1867 in Warsaw, Poland. She was the fifth and youngest child of Wladyslaw Sklodowski, a professor of mathematics and physics. As she grew up in a family that valued education, as young woman she moved to Paris to study Math's, Chemistry and Physics at Sorbonne. Here she met Pierre Curie in the spring of 1894. They got married in the summer of 1895.
