MENDING THE HOLE…

The good thing is that ozone concentrations can go back to normal if less chlorine is available for ozone destruction. Atmospheric chlorine concentrations have been reduced since CFCs, chlorofluorocarbons, have been banned and replaced by HCFCs, hydrofluorochlorocarbons, which have a carbon- hydrogen bond which causes the molecule to be destroyed in the troposphere and the chlorine never makes it to the stratosphere.
