Medicinal Uses

More recently caffeine has been added to paracetamol in the pharmaceutical industry.

It increases the analgesic (pain relieving) properties of paracetamol making it more useful.  In most cases 500mg of paracetamol to 65mg of caffeine in used and has been employed in brands such as Panadol Extra by GlaxoSmithKline (launched 1997).
