SSRIs
Serotin-selective reuptake inhibitors are effective against both typical and atypical episodes of depression.
An example is Fluoxetin, commercially called Prozac. It is one of the world's top ten prescribed drugs in the Uk (1995)
The main disadvantages with Prozac is that it can take 2-12 weeks to become effective and can cause headaches, nausea and nervousness.
