Uses of Lavender today

Lavender has many uses, it is one of the most versatile of the essential oils. It can be used as a muscle relaxant, to overcome insomnia, as an antibiotic, antiseptic anti-depressant and detoxifier. It promotes healing and prevents scarring when applied to a wound. Because it is a gentle oil it can be used to treat childhood infections as well as for calming temper tantrums!

The only warning that accompanies lavender oil is that people with low blood pressure should avoid its use.

Specific ailments which lavender can treat include to following; scalds, minor burns, cuts, eczema, dermatitis, bacterial infections, acne, rheumatism, arthritis, fainting, headaches and migraine. Its effects on the mind alleviate anxiety, stress and tension. It can calm, soothe and relax and generally helps to bring body and mind back into a state of balance!
