Dr Simon Campbell, President of the RSC, giving the SET prize to Zoe Zoë Schnepp wins Chemistry Student of the Year Award - 22/09/05

Zoë Schnepp, a final year undergraduate student in the School, has won the Royal Society of Chemistry Award for the Best Chemistry Student of the Year 2005. This is one of the SET Awards (Science, Engineering & Technology Student of the Year) - Britain’s most important awards for science and technology undergraduates.

The award is made after interview of the shortlisted candidates and on the basis of their research project work - in Zoë's case, entitled "Supramolecular hydrogels for advanced tissue growth", work supervised by Steve Mann with whom she will shortly be starting a PhD. Zoë received the award from Dr Simon Campbell, President of the RSC (see photo, right).
