Paul and Michelle's 50th Birthday(s) party

Since we'll both reach the ripe old age of 50 within 7 months of each other (Paul: May 1st, Michelle: Jan 22nd), we've decided to have a joint mega-birthday party. This will be at Thornbury Castle in their Tudor Room, and the whole event will have a King Arthur theme to it. Everyone will be expected to dress up in suitable costumes (these can be hired for either £6 or £12 on the day, depending on whether you want to be a simple peasant or Sir Lancelot!) - or you can bring/make your own. We will have events organised for us by a company that specialise is Medieval Events, such as 'Crowning the King and Queen', putting a criminal into the stocks and throwing stuff at them, mock sword-fighting, etc.

Food: The food will be catered by the castle, and will be a medieval-style banquet, or there's a vegetarian option available (see menus below). In order to keep our costs down (we've had to hire the castle, actors, and subsidise the meal), I'm afraid we have to ask for a contribution towards the food of £25 per person (it actually costs £50). The venue has a bar so drinks can be purchased from there.

Chldren: Children over about 4 years old are welcome, but they have a different (cheaper) menu to everyone else (see link below). They must choose a starter, main course and dessert from the two choices on the menu. These also need to be ordered in advance, so you'll need to email me your choices a week or so beforehand.

Accommodation: For those of you coming from far away, it is possible to stay in the castle, as it doubles as a hotel. Details are available from their website.
