This is a social event for everyone in the department to come along to, socialise with current friends and hopefully make some new ones.

Comic Relief Cake Sale - Friday 25th March 2011
Where : Postgraduate Coffee Lounge
When : @ tea-break (10:30-11:30 & 15:30-16:30)
We raised a total of £182.79 for Comic Relief!!
A BIG thank you to all of you who baked cakes, helped sell cakes, ate cakes and most importantly bought cakes!
GCA Quiz Night - Monday 15th November 2010

Thanks go to Prof. Nick Norman who was a great quiz-master!
Suffice to say it was another success for the GCA and all who attended enjoyed themselves (may have had something to do with the 'BYO' drinks-policy!)
Congratulations to the winning team! We're already looking forward to next year!

It is the start of another new academic year, which means time to get to know the new post-graduate students joining our ranks, in the presence of alcohol.
Because really, do we need to give you any more excuses?
It's the legendary graduate beginning of term "gathering".
Be there, or be chained to your fumehood for the rest of your PhD...!
Happy Hour starts at 4pm and ends at 7pm. Pitchers can be paid for before 7pm and redeemed after happy hour has ended.

GCA Quiz Night - Thursday 13th May 2010
The quiz was held in the Tea Room again.
Our very own head of department, Tim Gallagher, was the quiz master for the evening, asking the tough questions!
It was a tightly fought race, with the winning team a combination of Pringle and X-ray group members.

Charity Cake Sale - Friday 20th November

Community Challenge Events
Thursday 18th June - Messy Subjects Gig at the Grain Barge
We raised £281.00 from ticket sales, big thanks to everyone who came along!
Tuesday 2nd June - was Quiz Night in the tea room.
Thanks to everyone who turned up and took part we raised a staggering £187.42.
Congratulations to the winning team from the Aggarwal group "Pregnancy Tests R Us".

Staff vs. Postgrads vs. Undergrads Football Tournament

The winners of the hotly disputed 5-a-side Chemistry Challenge Cup were the postgrad team Grads-Hoppers.
Grads-Hoppers beat the staff team Arselona 7-1 in the final.

Our carefully designed nine-hole course started out at the Roo Bar, and finished in The Woods. Congratulations to all who managed to finish!

GCA Wear Red Cake Sale
Thanks to everyone who baked, despite the snow we had an excellent turn out, and were able to raise over £150 for the British Heart Foundation.
