1,3-DIMETHYLCYCLOHEXANES
Cis-1,3-dimethylcyclohexane has the two chair conformers shown below. Both are achiral (note the planes of symmetry), so obviously there is no enantiomer.
cis-diequatorial cis-diaxial Inverting the chair in trans-1,3-dimethylcyclohexane (below left) gives the conformer below right. Both are chiral but they are not enantiomers - they are the same. The enantiomer of this molecule is pictured in the bottom window.
