The Interaction of Two Chiral Ligands
About a Transition Metal Centre

Nickel Chemistry

We recently reported the high yelding preparation (>97%) of a homochiral bis-heterodonor Nickel complex. This complex is shown above (on the right hand side) together with the disfavoured heterochiral form. We are currently studying the "match" and "mismatch" in the complexation reaction and hope to be able to use this or similar processes to resolve axially chiral ligands and also prepare ligands that are formaly derived from "unnatural" amino acids.
