Quantum mechanics acknowledges the wave-particle duality of matter by suggesting particles dont follow a definite path - as classical mechanics would have it - but that the particle is distrubuted through space like a wave.
This wave is know as the wavefunction, or
Psi, which replaces the Newtonian concept of trajectory.
