Introduction

Hair is a very important part of the body. It helps regulate body temperature, protects our eyes and digits in the form of eyelashes/nails, and is now being used in elemental analysis to solve crimes and detect drug use. Some organic gardeners even use hair as a fertilizer, as the proteins in it are a good source of nitrogen, and after realizing how much oil hair can retain people have started to use hair clippings in a tube like formation in nets to soak up oil spills!

Hopefully this site will provide an insight into the diversity of hair, as well as further information on basics such as colouring, shampooing and the chemistry behind hair.
