Media
Many items in the media, mainly science fiction,
are concerned with time travel. Below are a few
examples of my favourite films, books and
serials relevant for time travel and wormholes.
Books
First to be mentioned must be H.G. Wells, The
Time Machine. As this was made into a film and
remade. This book/films has an example of a
paradox contained within, the scientist's
fiancée dies as a results he creates a time
machine to try to save her yet he cannot. This
is because his creating the time machine is a
direct result of his fiancée's death therefore
he cannot use it to save her as its existence
would be tittering on a balance.
Serials
Sliders; a series in which a student genius
creates a wormhole to another parallel universe
but his machine breaks and the group of
"sliders" jump to another parallel universe each
week.
Stargate SG1; this is a spin-off from the film,
here the stargate is the device which allows a
team to travel to other worlds and dimensions.
The stargates are points at which wormholes can
open for some time to allow people to walk
through them. You can "dial" to other
stargate to change your destination.
Films
The
Time Machine; as mentioned before is also a
film.
The
Back to the Future Triology; this is where a mad
scientist invents a "flux time
capacitor" a device which is essential for
time travel. Here it is built into a DeLorean
pictured below.
This trilogy starts with the scientist's (Dr
Emmett Brown) friend Marty McFly going back in
time accidentally which leads to one mishap
after another, as once Marty is back in time he
must not disturb anything as he could end up not
existing! So the first film deals with a paradox
of the past but as a result everything works out
better.
The
second film deals with going to the future.
While in the future the enemy of Marty's dad
borrows the time machine to help himself in the
past, which gives rise to a tangent universe or parallel
universe.
The
third is dealing with going back in time to the
wild west and hasn't much relevance here as the
first two films deal with the important parts of
time travel.

Donnie
Darko; this is an exceptional film, in which
time travel is considered from to different
approaches at the same firstly from the physical
approach (scientific) and also from religion.
The film highlights in my opinion how time
travel is impossible, even though it may be
possible from basic physics theoretically. Even
it is possible and people are continually traveling
through it would make no difference to anyone
other than the person who traveled through time.
If the person changed something then everyone
else would not notice as whatever had changed
would feel like it had always been that
way.

In
the film Donnie is subject to behavioral
problems, also he supposedly has hallucinations
in which he talk to a man dressed as a bunny
called Frank. He appears to be controlled by
Frank.

All
of the above in written as I have interpreted
each film I have watched it is an opinion and
nothing more.
