It is also used as a corrosion inhibitor in antifreeze products like the ones used to stop water in cars from freezing.

Used in tobacco and pharmaceutical preparations.

Rust and mildew inhibitor.

Sometimes it is used as a stabiliser in photographic processing.

A new use involves inserting it into plastics e.g. polypropylene to improve strength and clarity.
