An image of the structure of DNA Research in Organic Chemistry at Bristol receives extensive support from Research Councils and particularly from Industry. A majority of research workers are either wholly or partially supported by a wide range of chemical companies in the UK and abroad. In addition, there are many active collaborations with other academic institutions world-wide. Research seminars by invited external speakers are also held regularly.

Within Bristol University, strong interdepartmental links with Biochemistry, Botany, Pharmacology and the Long Ashton Research Station are fostered under the aegis of the University of Bristol Molecular Recognition Centre, one of a small number of national centres of excellence established to promote research at the chemistry-biology interface.
