Can you imagine a real happening in which the
reverse process occurs?
: a sinking ship that rises back out of the
water and the hole in the side repairs itself,
ridiculus right?, why?.....
The 2nd law says this is impossible ---
"Our physchological sense of time is based on the
2nd law. It summarises what we have seen, what we
have experienced and what will happen".

sinking ships are like rocks rolling down a 
mountain, as they sink their potential energy
is diffused.
From this the 2nd law points the direction of how
we feel time goes, in the forward direction of
energy flow. Things do not flow in reverse.

This is called "times arrow".


Past philosophers have predicted "doomsday" based
on the 2nd law. This prediction was based upon
a 'tendancy' rather than a fact for energy to flow,
and does not take into account the real-world and
more imortantly a blockage of energy diffusion 
called 'activation energy'. More on this later.

This blockage is absolutley necessary for us to
be alive, as none of the complex substances in
our body would exist if it was not.

This law also works in the real world with actual
objects, so these objects behave like their
constituent substances.

The 2nd law is really the mother of all murphy's
laws (serious ones), as his laws describe the same 
but from a 'physical' point of view.

The 2nd law is the biggest good and bad on Earth:

    GOOD ----  life is possible
         ----  we eat concentrated energy in food
               dispersed as heat etc.
         ----  can make machines to make machines.


     BAD ----  because of flow direction life is
               threatened ( almost a murphy law )
         ----  feedback systems in biomechanical
               systems, if they fail get death, 
               illness etc.
         ----  all chemicals are metastable in body
