Please don’t try this at home or anywhere really!
It’s easy to ruin your microwave and quite probably
your house.
For the curious though, suspending a CD-R in the microwave
and zapping it for 5 or so seconds will result in a fascinating
light show. Blue sparks dance across the surface leaving
a fractal-looking pattern behind. Using different coloured
CD-Rs results in different fractal patterns.
