Stabilisation of particles using polymers and surfactants

Charlie Flood (previous student, left the group in 2008)
Many modern household and personal care products are complex colloidal systems containing a range of surfactants and polymers. The aim of this project so far has been to investigate the interfacial adsorption of these components, which is a key factor in determining the functionality of the products.
The techniques used have included dynamic light scattering, small-angle neutron scattering, various nuclear magnetic resonance techniques and the calculation of adsorption isotherms.
